Under the “Now” section, we dealt with the things that the homeowner can do today to reduce energy costs in a house that was built yesterday.

This "Next" section describes the energy-related features that should be designed into the home of tomorrow by architects, builders, and homeowners who can start from scratch..

First, there is the setting and design of the building itself, then the selection and operation of the equipment for heating, cooling, and atmospheric control.

Renewable Energy, including wind, direct solar, and stored solar are covered here, also.

Among the many renewable sources that have received public attention, we have concentrated on those that offer the homeowner a decent Return on Investment , in the order of five years or better.

In a special case, we promote Windmills, even though we emphasize that they are not for the average homeowner.  They are for organizations with deep pockets, and we hope that you will voice your support for them at every opportunity.

Finally, we recognize that experiments are underway in a great many areas of Renewable Energy that are not yet marketable, or have not caught the interest of investors. We will cover many of them in the News section, and we will sometimes publish ideas presented by readers.
